Easy Ways to Lose Carbs

Reducing the amount of carbohydrates and sugar in your diet can seem like a daunting task. Some of your favourite foods are probably high in both and the thought of giving them up forever is depressing! Or you may find your current diet is full of carbohydrates and sugar and it just seems like too much work to do a complete dietary overhaul.

The best way to start eating healthier is to make small, permanent changes to your diet. Crash diets can cause your weight to yo-yo, which can be detrimental to your health. It’s much better to make slow, positive changes to your diet.
If you love breads and pasta, you don’t necessarily have to give them up. There are numerous whole grain and low carbohydrate options available, which will give your body more nutrients while allowing you to continue to enjoy them.
At breakfast, ditch the muffin or pastry and instead opt for a high-protein meal like eggs and cheese – this tasty alternative will keep you fuller in the morning.
When you are craving a snack, instead of reaching for a bag of chips, grab a handful of high-protein nuts instead.

Carbohydrates can also be hiding where you least expect them. For example, fruit juices can be very high in sugar and calories, whereas fruit itself is high in fibre.

It can be hard to give up your favourite treats, such as cookies or donuts. The good news is that you don’t have to ban them completely from your diet. Look for low carb/low sugar options or just reduce the number of treats that you eat.
Easy, simple changes to your diet can have a big impact! Reducing the amount of carbs and sugar can help you lose weight, lower your blood pressure and give you more energy.
